Jitterbugs Christmas Festival
Each December, Jitterbugs Childcare transforms into a festive gathering place where children, educators, and families celebrate the season together. Through music, movement, and imaginative play, the children share joyful performances in a warm, welcoming environment. Soft lights, festive décor, and shared moments create lasting memories while reflecting our belief that early learning is rooted in joy, creativity, and community
Jitterbugs Christmas Festival Brings Families Together to Celebrate the Season
Jitterbugs was proud to host a joyful and highly successful Christmas Festival that brought families, friends, and community members together in a warm and festive learning environment. With over 80 people in attendance, the event welcomed a diverse mix of current Jitterbugs families, extended family members, and new community visitors, all coming together to celebrate the holiday season through music, movement, and shared experiences.
The festival took place at the beautifully decorated Empress location, which was transformed into a vibrant Christmas setting designed to inspire wonder and creativity. A custom-built show stage became the centerpiece of the event, where children and early childhood educators collaborated to present festive performances that highlighted confidence, creativity, and joyful participation.
Throughout the celebration, children took part in a series of holiday performances including the Waggle Dance, Bringing Home My Baby Bumble Bee, Jingle Bells, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, and the Whimsical Dance. These performances encouraged movement, rhythm, and expressive play while supporting social connection and early learning in a fun and meaningful way.
One of the most engaging moments of the festival occurred during the wind-whooshing activity, when playful gusts sent decorations swirling through the space. The children quickly worked together to gather the decorations and reload the berry wagon, demonstrating teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving through play. This spontaneous group effort reflected the Jitterbugs philosophy of learning through hands-on, child-led experiences.
The celebration continued as children carried glowing honey lanterns and carefully hung them as high as their little feet could reach. This activity supported coordination, collaboration, and a sense of pride, while allowing children to actively shape their environment in a safe and supportive setting.
Outside, large inflatable Christmas decorations and festive lighting illuminated the property, creating a welcoming atmosphere for families as the event unfolded. The festival provided a meaningful way to bring the year to a close, celebrating community connection, early childhood development, and the joy of learning together.
The Jitterbugs Christmas Festival was a true reflection of the values that guide our program—connection, creativity, and intentional play. We are grateful to our educators, families, and community members who helped make this event such a memorable success and a beautiful way to wind down the year.
